York Regional Police Citizens Academy
The York Regional Police Citizens Academy is an interactive program designed to provide residents with insight and a good working knowledge of our police service and how we function.
Seminars offered may include the History of York Regional Police, a Day in the Life of a Police Officer, the Police Services Board, Robbery Prevention, Guns and Gangs, Recruiting and the roles of the Drugs and Vice, Canine and Marine Units as well as the Diversity and Cultural Resources Bureau.
York Regional Police proudly offers multiple versions of the Citizens Academy designed to meet the needs of our diverse citizens. We are currently offering the original 17-week program, four-session programs for seniors and parents of pre-teens and teens. At other times throughout the year we proudly offer the Citizens Academy in Urdu and Chinese.
