Co-op Student Program

York Regional Police is proud to partner with the York Region District School Board and York Region Catholic School Board in order to provide a Co-operative Education experience for students interested in policing as a future career choice. The High School Co-op Program is a full day, 4-credit course at the Community Safety Village of York Region, which is located within Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area in Stouffville, ON.

As members of the Community Safety Village team, Co-op Students will work with Police and Fire Educators in order to lead groups of elementary school aged children through safety and positive lifestyle choice lessons. Co-op Students will have the opportunity to interact with York Regional Police personnel from various units and to take part in special events over the course of their semester.

Prospective students can visit their school’s Co-operative Education office for additional information or to apply to the program. As part of the competitive competition for the Co-op positions, all applicants will be required to complete an application, interview, background investigation, reference checks, home visit, and placement.
