When applying for the position of police constable with York Regional Police, you must meet the following criteria to be considered in the selection process:

  • Have no criminal record for which you have not received a pardon and be of good moral character and habits
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada and at least 18-years-old
  • Be physically and mentally able to perform the duties of the position
  • Have proof of successful completion of four years of secondary school education or equivalency
  • Possess a valid OACP certificate
  • Possess valid standard or emergency first-aid and CPR Level C certification, at minimum
  • Possess a valid Ontario driver's licence class G, at minimum

Applicants must obtain an Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police Certificate of Results prior to submitting a Police Constable application package to York Regional Police. Information on how to obtain the OACP Certificate of Results is available at Applicant Testing Inc.
