Two pairs of hands holding video game controllers

Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in online games. They're exciting and fun. But if playing games makes you want to skip school, avoid friends and miss other events, then maybe you're playing too much.

You aren't alone. A lot of kids get caught up in the online world. What's important is knowing what to do to help you cut back.

  • First, talk to your parents or guardian. They can help you and are there to listen
  • Set a time limit on play
  • Find other fun things to do offline
  • Move the computer to an open space
  • Unplug it and put it away
  • Get everything you need to do done first
  • Stop playing at least 30 minutes before bed
