High Risk Offenders Unit

Officer escorting suspectThe six members of the High-Risk Offender Unit are responsible for developing management strategies for high-risk offenders and federal and provincial parolees released back into the community to prevent further criminal behaviour.

Highlights of 2009 include the arrest of two men discovered possessing firearms and cocaine during regular court-ordered compliance checks.

Other responsibilities include ensuring released offenders are complying with bail conditions and monitoring the federal and provincial sex offender registries.
