Victim: Jason Pellicore

Summary:  At approximately 9:25 a.m., York Regional Police #2 District officers responded to 354 Newkirk  Road, south of Major Mackenzie Drive, for a report of a weapons call. The caller advised that gunshots were heard and a male had been shot.

Police and Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived on scene and located a male who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transferred to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The victim has been identified as Jason Pellicore, 34 years, of King Township.

Police are seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect who was seen in the area at the time of this homicide.

The suspect, who was wearing dark-coloured clothing, was riding a scooter or small motorcycle and was wearing a grey or light-coloured helmet fitted with a full face cover. The scooter was last seen heading southbound on Newkirk Road.

Investigators are urging anyone who may have seen this scooter or small motorcycle in the area near
the time of the shooting to contact police.

Victim: Phillip Ho Sing Sit

Summary:  On Wednesday, August 9, 2006, a resident of a rural property, located in the King Road - Weston Road area, discovered what were identified as human remains. York Regional Police conducted an extensive search of the property gathering additional pieces of evidence.

The human remains were sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences for examination and have been positively identified as Phillip Ho Sing Sit, 17, of Toronto.

Phillip SIT was reported missing to the Toronto Police Service by family members and was last seen in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 24, 2005. He told his family he was going out with friends and had not been seen or heard from him since. 

Phillip SIT was known to frequent the Kensington Market and the Eaton Centre in Toronto and the Pacific Mall at Kennedy Road and Steeles Avenue and the Metro Square at Ferrier Street and Steeles Avenue in the Town of Markham.

The cause of death has been determined to be the result of homicide. The manner of death will not be made public in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Investigators are seeking assistance to piece together the last hours of Phillip SIT’s life. Anyone who may have been with him or who has information about the people he was last in contact with is asked to contact homicide investigators.

In addition, the area where the body of Phillip SIT was located is a well-travelled road in a rural area of King Township.

Date: Friday, September 1, 2006

Summary: On Friday, September 1, 2006, just before 10 p.m., a 9-1-1 call was placed to York Regional Police indicating that a man had been shot in front of restaurant located at 3636 Steeles Avenue East. 

Officers responded to the scene and located a man in his 30s who had been shot several times. A short time later the victim was pronounced dead. 

The victim has been identified as Si Dung Lieu 39, of Toronto.

On September 3, 2006 a post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death to be the result of gunshot wounds. 

Police are seeking assistance in identifying and apprehending the suspect observed fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male, Asian
  • In his 20s
  • Approximately 5’2" 
  • Wearing a long-sleeved, dark-coloured top and blue jeans

Location: 8077 Islington Avenue, between Woodbridge Avenue and Willis Road, Vaughan
Date: Wednesday, February 9, 2005

Summary: On Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at approximately 8 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at 8077 Islington Avenue, between Woodbridge Avenue and Willis Road, in the City of Vaughan. Upon arrival they located a male party in the driver’s seat of his grey 2005 Ford van. He had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has been identified as Vincenzo Raco, 58 years, of Brampton.

Police want to speak with anyone who came into contact with Mr. RACO, either in person or by telephone, between 7:15 and 8 p.m. last evening.

Police also want to speak with anyone who may have observed anything suspicious in the plaza or surrounding area around the time of the murder. They are attempting to identify and locate a person of interest observed in the area and last seen running eastbound through the plaza. 

The suspect is described as male, white, clean shaven, 5’11, thin build, wearing a green, winter hooded coat and dark toque. He may have departed the scene shortly after the incident in a dark, imported compact vehicle

Summary: On Friday, April 8, 2005, York Regional Police responded to a home in the City of Vaughan for a report of a suspicious death. 

At approximately 5:30 p.m., an acquaintance of the victim contacted police after attending the home of his friend located at 7854 Martingrove Road. The man discovered the 75-year-old male victim deceased. York Regional Police attended the scene along with fire and ambulance and the death was confirmed.

On Sunday, April 10, 2005, a post-mortem examination was conducted on the deceased. The cause of death was a result of blunt-force trauma to the head. 

York Regional Police homicide detectives have identified the victim as Steve Tsakmakian, 74, a long-time resident of Vaughan.

Location: 7170 Warden Avenue, Markham
Date: Sunday, February 8, 2004

Summary: At approximately 12:50 a.m., unknown persons entered the Mirage Spa, a licensed massage parlor at 7170 Warden Avenue in the Town of Markham, through the front door. The victims were shot within the premises, the bodies wrapped in materials from the spa, then loaded into the rear of ZHANG’s red 1999 Ford Explorer.

The Ford Explorer was then driven north approximately 14 kilometers and abandoned, prior to 4 a.m., at the rear of the Victoria Square United Church, located at the southwest corner of Woodbine Avenue and Elgin Mills Road.

Date: Sunday, May 2, 2004

Summary: On Sunday, May 2, 2004, York Regional Police responded to a shooting call in the parking lot of the Club Illusion plaza, located at 270 West Beaver Creek Road, in the Town of Richmond Hill.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., officers arrived on scene to find three people shot. All three were transported to hospital, however, two of the victims were dead upon arrival.

The victims have been identified as:

Thanh Nguyen, 20, of Mississauga
Frank Pham, 21, of Mississauga

The third victim, a 19-year-old Mississauga man, was treated at hospital and released on May 2, 2004.

There were several hundred people present throughout the evening of May 1 and the early morning hours of May 2, 2004 and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Summary: On Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers responded to the report of a body found at the dead end of the 17th Sideroad, located on the east side of Highway 400 between King Road and Aurora Road, in the Township of King.

The victim has been identified as:

Tiago Pereira, 35 years, of Toronto.

A post mortem examination was performed on the victim and the cause of death was determined to be gun shot wounds.

Mr. Pereira was last seen on Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at approximately noon in Toronto. His exact whereabouts between then and the time he was discovered on May 5, 2004 in the Township of King are not known. Anyone who may have had contact with the victim or may be aware of his whereabouts between these times is urged to call police.

The crime scene is visible from both the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 400 and homicide investigators are urging citizens to call police if they noticed any suspicious activity in that area around the time of the incident.

Date: Thursday, September 4, 2003

Summary: On Thursday, September 4, 2003, just before 3:30 a.m., York Regional Police received calls from citizens advising of gun shots in the area of Pugsley Avenue just north of Major Mackenzie Drive. Police arrived on scene within minutes and located a male victim in his early twenties lying on the driveway of 116 Puglsey Avenue. The male party had suffered obvious gun shot wounds. He was pronounced dead by the paramedics at the scene. 

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Joseph Kwaw,of 116 Puglsey Avenue in Richmond Hill.

Victim: Van Boa Nguyen

Location: 120 Findhorn Cres., Vaughan
Date: March 8, 2002

Summary: On March 8, 2002, at approximately 2:40 p.m., a phone call was received by the Toronto Police Service from an anonymous male caller advising them of a possible death at 120 Findhorn Crescent. The Toronto Police Service advised York Regional Police, who attended the residence and discovered the body of a male party who was the obvious victim of a homicide. The residence had been operating as a marihuana growing operation.

Investigation has revealed that on March 8, 2002, at approximately 1:00 a.m. as many as three unknown suspects forced their way into the victim’s residence, confronted him, forcibly confined him and subsequently executed him. 

The victim was shot, however, the exact cause of death will be determined by a post mortem which is scheduled for March 9, 2002, at 4:30 p.m. in Richmond Hill.

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Van Boa Nguyen of Vaughan.

Investigators believe that this residence was targeted specifically as it was a marihuana grow operation. Several hundred mature marihuana plants were discovered in the basement of the residence.

Location: Forfardale Road in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville
Date: Tuesday, May 7th, 2002

Summary: On Tuesday, May 7th, 2002, just before 7:30 a.m York Regional Police responded to a call where it was reported that a body had been found showing signs of trauma at the eastern end of Forfardale Road in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.

Upon arrival officers located the victim, since identified as Luke Ronald Charles MARSON, age 21 of Aurora, Ontario.

Officers are continuing to investigate this homicide and are appealing to the public to assist with any information they may be able to provide in this matter. 

Preliminary investigation leads investigators to believe that this homicide may have occurred in the twenty four hours prior to the discovery of the victim.

A post mortem examination was concluded on Wednesday May 8, 2002 and the cause of death was determined to be gunshot wounds.

Victim: John Fullerton

Location: 2951 Highway 7, Vaughan
Date: Thursday, September 5, 2002

Summary: On Thursday, September 5, 2002, at approximately 10:26 A.M. between four to six suspects armed with a sawed-off shotgun and a handgun, entered the Ontario Sporting Supplies store located at 2951 Highway 7, in the City of Vaughan. Once inside, the suspects confronted employees and fatally shot an employee, 40-year-old John Fullerton, in the head.

The suspects smashed a display case and removed a large quantity of firearms including 66 handguns and one high-powered rifle.

They fled the scene in two mini vans, one green in colour, one maroon in colour. The vehicles were last
seen eastbound through the parking lot and then southbound on Maplecrete Road.

The suspects are described as:

  • Males, possibly Hispanic
  • One suspect was described as approximately 6' 1", spoke with an Hispanic accent, wore grey coloured baggy sweatshirt.
