The Stouffville Community Policing Centre is located in the heart in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville at the Stouffville Train Station.

The Stouffville Community Policing Centre opened on October 31, 2000 and is located in the heart of the Whitchurch-Stouffville in the Stouffville Train Station.

The centre was developed to help increase the police presence within the town and to help communicate the policing needs and safety concerns of the residents of Stouffville to York Regional Police, both to develop and to implement programs that meet community requests.

The focus of the centre is crime prevention and education and takes part in initiatives such as Neighbourhood Watch, Road Watch and Child Identification. The centre also hosts a number of community events such as a basketball tournament and bicycle rodeo for youths.

Since the SCPCentre opened in 2000, they have increased the number of initiatives and community awareness programs and have also seen a number of new residents volunteering their time to staff the centre.

The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville is policed by York Regional Police and is located within #5 District. A police officer from the #5 District Community Oriented Response unit has been assigned to serve as a liaison person with the centre’s volunteers to ensure that the needs of the community are achieved.

Police officers assigned to patrol areas of Whitchurch-Stouffville have 24-hour access to the centre. The policing centre has been a valuable local tool to the officers who perform such duties as interviewing victim’s and witnesses, completing reports, as well as supplementing the volunteers on duty.

The police officers who patrol the area also address complaints and concerns brought forward by the residents of Whitchurch-Stouffville, which include traffic concerns, youth issues and crime prevention.

A Board of Directors, who has approved a Mission Statement, oversees the centre. The Board is a non-profit organization with its own by-laws for the local citizens and businesses.
