Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit – Crimes Against Children Section have charged a 23-year-old man in connection with sexual assaults against a child at a home daycare.  

On June 21, 2018, York Regional Police began an investigation after receiving a report in regards to sexual assaults against a female child which occurred between 2014 and 2018.

On June 22, 2018, the suspect was arrested and has been charged.

The suspect is known to have been around children for many years as a home daycare was operated at his family residence in the area of Bayview Avenue and Palmer Avenue in Richmond Hill. Investigators are releasing an image of the accused and would like to speak to any further victims, witnesses or anyone who may have had contact with the accused pertaining to this investigation

The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on July 26, 2018.

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police would like to encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police.
