Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking public assistance to identify a suspect wanted for robbing a convenience store in the City of Vaughan more than a year ago.

On Saturday, February 20, 2016, at approximately 2 a.m., a suspect entered a convenience store located in the area of Martin Grove Road and Highway 7. The suspect approached and employee and demanded cash. The suspect obtained a small amount of cash then fled on foot.

Investigators are releasing video surveillance from this incident and are asking anyone with information that can assist with identifying the suspect to contact police. The video is available for viewing at the following link:


Suspect  #1:

  • Male, tanned complexion
  • 20 to 25 years
  • Slim build
  • 5’ to 5’5”
  • Scar above right eye brow and right cheek


While the investigation is ongoing, investigators have exhausted all leads and are appealing to the public for assistance.

Investigators from the Hold-Up Unit remind business owners of the importance of maintaining and updating video surveillance equipment. Quality images help to identify suspects, can aid in arrests and have a tremendous impact during court proceedings.
