UPDATE: NEW VIDEO AND SECOND SUSPECT SOUGHT IN HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION FOLLOWING DOUBLE SHOOTING IN VAUGHAN
Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit are releasing new video of the suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in the City of Vaughan. The video shows the shooter exiting the passenger side of the vehicle which confirms the involvement of a second suspect operating as the getaway driver.
At this time there is no description available of the driver and investigators are appealing to anyone who may have seen the vehicle fleeing the scene. The vehicle was recovered in the area of Garyray Drive and Barmac Drive in Toronto and investigators have confirmed that it was abandoned there only minutes after the shooting occurred. Investigators determined that the vehicle had reported stolen on March 13, 2017 from the Rexdale area in Toronto.
On Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at approximately 4:12 p.m., York Regional Police responded to reports of a shooting on Caster Avenue in the area of Weston Road and Highway 7. Officers arrived on scene and located a male victim and an unresponsive female victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The female victim, Mila BARBERI, 28, of the City of Vaughan, was transported to hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The 40-year-old male victim, who will not be identified, was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

SUSPECT DESCRIBED AS:
- Approximately 6’2, 250 lbs.
- Wearing a dark jacket
- Face was covered
RECOVERED SUSPECT VEHICLE:
- Dark-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee
Investigators have been interviewing witnesses and examining the recovered vehicle for evidence and will be following up on all information gained through this co-operation. Any additional witnesses that may have seen or heard anything in the area of Caster Avenue leading up to, or following, the shooting are asked to contact police. Investigators are also appealing to any nearby businesses or residences that may have video surveillance to please come forward.
