POLICE SEEK SUSPECTS FOLLOWING GAS STATION ROBBERY IN VAUGHAN

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking assistance to identify two suspects following a robbery at a gas station in the City of Vaughan.   

On Saturday, October 7, 2017, shortly before midnight, York Regional Police responded to a gas station in the area of Highway 7 West, west of Highway 27, for a report of a robbery. Two suspects walked into the gas station, the female suspect went up the counter and asked the employee for cigarettes while the male suspect went behind the counter and demanded cash. The employee was struck with an object that the male suspect had in his hand that was covered by a white cloth. The victim complied with the demand and the suspect fled the area on foot.

Suspect 1:

  • Male, 25 to 30
  • East Indian
  • Thin build
  • Wearing a black and white bandanna, a black hoodie, light-colored jeans, black shoes and black gloves
  • Carrying a small bag with shoulder strap and an unknown object concealed by white cloth
   

 

 Suspect 2:

  • Female, approximately 25
  • East Indian
  • Medium build
  • Dark hair, tied back
  • Wearing a blue-and-white scarf

   

Investigators from the Hold-Up Unit remind business owners of the importance of maintaining and updating video surveillance equipment. Quality images help to identify suspects, can aid in arrests and have a tremendous impact during court proceedings.
