Victims and Survivors of Crime Week

Victim Services of York Region (VSY) is pleased to host a conference on May 29 to 30, 2019 for National Victims and Survivors of Crime Week.

The first day of the conference will be held at the Sheraton Parkway Hotel in Richmond Hill. This year’s keynote speaker is John Douglas, the legendary FBI profiler and inspiration for the Netflix Series Mind Hunter. He will discuss tools for communities in the aftermath of mass violence.

Also presenting is Susheel Gupta, Director of Air India Victims’ Families Association. He has been actively involved in issues concerning national security, terrorism and aviation security and will discuss lessons learned. 

The second day of the conference will take place at the Newmarket Community Centre, offering attendees the opportunity to earn a Psychological First Aid Certification.
