Cyclists from across York Region and the Greater Toronto Area are invited to register and participate in the 7th Annual Memorial Ride 4 Styles Event.
More than 100 cyclists have already registered to participate in this year’s 7th Annual Memorial Ride 4 Styles, which will take place on Sunday, June 4, 2017. The ride will take place at the Community Safety Village (CSV), Bruce's Mill Conservation Area, 3291 Stouffville Road, Stouffville. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the ride will get underway at 8 a.m. Riders can participate in an optional 20-kilometre, 45-kilometre or 70-kilometre ride. Children can ride a trail that has been mapped out at the CSV.
Media are invited to attend the start location at the Community Safety Village on Sunday, June 4, 2017, at 8 a.m. Media are also invited to attend at the finish of the event for approximately 11 a.m., to capture images of the riders finishing and a cheque presentation.
Over the last five years, the Memorial Ride 4 Styles has raised more than $90,000 to support local charities such as Big Brothers and Big Sisters of York, Victim Services of York Region, The Aga Khan Foundation and Special Olympics Ontario. The fundraising goal for this year’s ride is $20,000.
The ride is in honour of Constable Garrett Styles, a seven-year veteran of York Regional Police who died in the line of duty June 28, 2011, and all our fallen heroes who served our communities.
