In this newly created role the inaugural Director, Marketing and Communications will build and deliver a strategic marketing and communications plan, engaging the diverse residents of York Region in new ways, and building brand equity for YRP. This high-level position requires a seasoned marketing officer who possesses a unique blend of strategic communication skills, visionary thinking, and outstanding interpersonal abilities.
As the Director of Marketing & Communications, your primary responsibility will be to establish a cohesive team and build and execute an integrated marketing communications strategy. Leveraging your extensive experience in both public and private sectors, you will be instrumental in implementing a communication strategy that is focused on delivering tangible outcomes. This strategy should effectively bridge the gap between commercial marketing concepts, such as brand management, customer journey planning, lead generation, and revenue growth, and adapt them to the unique context of the public sector.
To excel in this role, you will need to possess a deep understanding of how to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders. You have impeccable written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft and deliver compelling messages for various audiences. You will bring to life the YRP brand through best-in-class creative and innovative content, delivered in ways that inspire, engage, and increase relationships with diverse communities within the Region. Success will be measured not only by traditional business metrics but also by factors such as social impact, policing outcomes, and stakeholder engagement.
