Bureaus and units

York Regional Police members work in various bureaus and units, operating both within the five police districts and from a variety of specialized areas. Members working in bureaus and units are highly trained to address specific areas of law enforcement and crime prevention, while others are responsible for important administrative duties.

A bureau is defined as an area specified in the organizational chart whose commander reports to the divisional or district commander. A unit is an area specified in the organizational chart which falls under the authority of a bureau.
