Parent Charged after Threatening Player at Youth Soccer Game

Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged an adult for threatening a youth at a soccer game in the City of Vaughan.

On June 20, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., a youth soccer game was underway at a field in the area of Dufferin Street and Highway 407. The suspect, a parent of a player, uttered a threat against a youth on the opposing team, causing the game to be concluded.

On June 27, 2025 Gianni LUCIANI, 53, of Vaughan, has been charged with one count of Utter Threats.

York Regional Police takes public safety seriously and is reminding the community that we will not tolerate any form of threats, intimidation, or violence at public events, including youth sports. All such incidents will be investigated. If you witness or are the victim of such behavior, we encourage you to report it to police immediately.
