An officer talking to four youths

York Regional Police is dedicated to mentoring and safeguarding our youth. By engaging youth, we can build positive relationships, establish trust and open the lines of communication.

Through interaction at schools, community events and sporting events, we can teach students about the importance of leadership, teamwork and accountability and develop youth ambassadors, not only for York Regional Police, but for our community. Our Youth Education Officers and School Resource Officers are in schools across the region, connecting with students on a daily basis and promoting healthy lifestyles choices.

Program List

This list includes all core youth programs offered by York Regional Police. There is no cost to participate and all programs operate on a referral basis only. Referrals are accepted from schools and social agencies.

Referral deadlines are generally three months prior to the start date of each program, except for the employment programs, which have a six-month deadline. Referrals are accepted at any time.
