Investigators with the York Regional Police #2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are appealing for witnesses after suspects set fire to a parked vehicle in the City of Vaughan.
On Saturday, April 5, 2025, shortly before 2 a.m., police responded to reports of a vehicle fire in a plaza parking lot, located near Steeles Avenue West and Yonge Street. Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, police identified the vehicle as a black 2023 BMW M4 and notified its owner.
Surveillance footage from the area captured a white Honda Odyssey entering the parking lot, circling the area before stopping near the BMW. A suspect exited the passenger side of the Odyssey, poured an accelerant onto the vehicle and deliberately set it on fire.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information, or who may have witnessed the incident, is urged to contact York Regional Police.
