Manslaughter, Drug Trafficking Charges Laid Following Overdose Death

Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal investigations Bureau (CIB) have charged a man with Manslaughter and Drug Trafficking, following an overdose death in the City of Vaughan.

On Sunday, September 15, 2024, officers responded to a report of a male without vital signs at a residence in the area of Bathurst Street and Ner Israel Drive. The male was pronounced deceased on scene. The Office of the Chief Coroner classified the death as an accidental overdose.

Through an extensive investigation, 4CIB investigators identified a suspect responsible for trafficking drugs in the York Region, including those sold to the deceased.

On August 21, 2025, investigators arrested the suspect for Manslaughter and Trafficking Controlled Substances. A search warrant was executed at his residence, where officers seized a quantity of controlled substances and proceeds of crime. 

Charged:

  • Farzam JAFARI ROUDSARI, 29, Town of Georgina

 

Charges:

  • Manslaughter
  • Trafficking Schedule I substance x6
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Schedule I substance x5
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 x5
  • Breach of Probation x2

At the time of his arrest JAFARI ROUDSARI was on probation for unrelated offences.
