Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit are appealing for witnesses following a homicide in the City of Vaughan.
On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 2:36 p.m., officers attended a commercial premise in the area of Langstaff Road and Jane Street for a report of an injured person. On arrival, a male was located inside one of the units with obvious signs of trauma to his body. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
On Thursday, August 28, 2025, the office of the Chief Coroner identified the victim as Deuvane Donald FRANCIS, 41, of the City of Toronto.
The cause of death was determined to be the result of gunshot wounds.
A white, four-door 2016 Honda Civic was observed fleeing the scene on August 26, 2025 at approximately 12:22 p.m. and has since been recovered by investigators.
This is being treated as a targeted incident.
Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police and to anyone who may have security video from the area, to please come forward.
