VIDEO - MALE FOR IDENTIFICATION IN MARKHAM FRAUD INVESTIGATION

Posted on Monday April 28, 2025

Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male in connection with a fraud investigation in the City of Markham.

The investigation began on March 6, 2025, when packages were delivered to a victim’s residence, in the area of Riverwalk Drive and Oakborough Drive. The packages were addressed to them with slightly altered personal information. As the package arrived, a male suspect rang the victim’s doorbell and told the victim that his sister’s package was delivered there accidentally. The suspect fled when told police would be called.

When the victim checked their credit card statements, they noticed transactions for high-end clothing items they did not order.

The following day, the victim again called to report a similar incident involving the same suspect. The victim again confronted the suspect who fled in a black sport utility vehicle.

On March 31, 2025, another victim that resides in the area of Joseph Glover Avenue and Sharon Lee Drive reported a similar incident.

Security cameras from the area show the same male suspect exit the driver’s seat of what appears to be a white Mercedes-Benz and retrieve the packages at the victim’s door. A dark grey Range Rover was seen driving in tandem with the Mercedes-Benz.

A video of the suspect can be seen here: https://youtu.be/y0hGFce7Ulk

  • Male, Asian
