Investigators with the York Regional Police #2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking witnesses after a vehicle was set on fire at a residence in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Saturday, June 10, 2023, at approximately 1:15 a.m., police were called to a home on Estoril Street in the area of Berwick Crescent and 16th Avenue, for a report of a fire. Three adult females were asleep in the residence at the time when one of them heard noises coming from outside. When she opened the garage door, she saw her silver Subaru Crosstrek fully engulfed in flames in the driveway.

Richmond Hill Fire and Emergency Services extinguished the fire. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Investigators reviewed video surveillance and observed a lone male suspect pour liquid over the vehicle before setting it alight and running northbound on Estoril Street.
