UPDATE: MAN WANTED FOR VAUGHAN HOME INVASION LOCATED IN BRAMPTON

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit have located and charged an 18-year-old man wanted in relation to a home invasion in the City of Vaughan.

On Monday, January 6, 2025, at 3:49 a.m., police responded to a home invasion at a residence in the area of Sir Sanford Fleming Way and Grand Trunk Avenue. On scene, officers learned that multiple suspects forced their way into the home, with at least one suspect armed with a handgun. When the residents were confronted, a struggle ensued and the gun was discharged. A resident of the home suffered minor injuries and a suspect was also injured during the confrontation.

Through investigation, a suspect was identified and, on Friday, January 10, 2025, a Canada-wide warrant was issued for Doneil Josiah LEVY-PORTER, 18, of the City of Brampton. Friday evening, LEVY-PORTER was located in the City of Brampton and charged.

Investigators would like to thank the media and members of the public for their assistance with this investigation.

LEVY-PORTER is also charged in relation to a bank robbery that occurred on December 23, 2024, in the City of Markham.

  • Robbery with a Firearm x2
  • Point Firearm
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
  • Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order x2
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking

At the time of these offences, LEVY-PORTER was on three release orders for previous unrelated charges.

Both investigations are ongoing and investigators continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward.
