Investigators with the York Regional Police Firearms Investigations Team are appealing for public assistance following a second shooting at a residence in the City of Richmond Hill within a three-month period.
On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, just before 5 a.m., police responded to reports of gunshots on Bryson Drive, in the area of Carville Road and Bathurst Street. When officers arrived, they observed damage to a vehicle parked in the driveway of the home. A grey sport utility vehicle (SUV) was observed fleeing the area shortly after the shots were fired.
This incident follows a previous shooting at the same address in November 2025. During that incident, a dark-coloured SUV was observed in the area before multiple shots were fired at the residence and vehicles in the driveway.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
Investigators are working to determine whether the two shootings are connected and are asking anyone with information to come forward. Police are particularly interested in obtaining video surveillance or dash-camera footage from the area that may have captured the roadways around the time of the incident.
Anyone who has information and has not yet spoke with police is urged to contact the York Regional Police Firearms Investigations Team by calling 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7817. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or by visiting www.1800222tips.com.
