York Regional Police Service Board and York Regional Police are inviting community members to share feedback as part of our strategic planning process. As a first step, we have launched an anonymous Community Survey to hear directly from residents, businesses, and community partners.

York Region is one of Canada’s fastest growing and most diverse communities. People across the region bring different experiences and perspectives on safety, policing, and community priorities. Your input will help us understand what matters most and how York Regional Police can best meet evolving expectations while maintaining public safety.

Ongoing engagement

This survey is the first step in a broader engagement process. Between now and Spring 2026, there will be additional opportunities for community members to provide in-person input, including focus groups and community pop-ups. Check this page and York Regional Police channels for upcoming events and ways to get involved.

The strategic planning process

York Regional Police Service Board and York Regional Police are undertaking a strategic planning process. Feedback received through the community engagement process, including this survey, will inform the development of the new York Regional Police Service Board Strategic Plan and York Regional Police Strategic Plan.
