A miniature village

About the village

Located within Bruce's Mill Conservation Area in Whitchurch-Stouffville, the Community Safety Village is an interactive, educational facility where children learn about fire, traffic and personal safety. Visits to the village are booked through York Region schools, but the public is encouraged to join us during the many special events we hold throughout the year.

The village features a 10,000 square-foot learning centre with both police, paramedic and fire education classrooms, complete with working traffic lights and signals and a fully equipped apartment where students learn to plan and execute a safe escape in case of an emergency.

The grounds contain a miniature village featuring more than 30 scaled-down buildings, roadways, operational traffic lights, signs and a railway crossing. Children have the opportunity to utilize the new knowledge they've learned including the rules of the road, fire prevention and safety and CPR.

Teachers can find more information and book here.
