WITNESSES SOUGHT FOLLOWING SUSPICIOUS FIRE AT A SCHOOL IN VAUGHAN

Investigators with the #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking witnesses following a suspicious fire that occurred inside of an elementary school in the City of Vaughan.

On Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at 11:45 a.m., York Regional Police were called to Fossil Hill Public School, located at 2 Firenza Road for a report of a fire. When officers arrived they were directed to a locker located on the second floor of the school that was on fire. It was later determined that the fire was believed to have been intentionally set.

As a result of damage caused by the fire and the ongoing investigation, Fossil Hill Public School will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious is asked to come forward.
