Arrests Made in Commercial Robbery in Richmond Hill

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit have charged two suspects in connection with a commercial robbery at a mall in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at approximately 4 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at a cellphone store located in a mall near Yonge Street and Carrville Road. The caller reported that two suspects entered the store – one armed with a knife and the other believed to be armed with a firearm. The suspects stole multiple cellphones before fleeing in a waiting vehicle.

At the time of the incident, two employees were inside the store. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.

Shortly after the suspects fled, investigators located their getaway vehicle and conducted surveillance. The suspects were tracked to the City of Toronto, where they were arrested and the stolen cellphones were recovered.

Charged:

  • Adun TENSEAW, 22, of City of Toronto
  • Rashaun Tarence BENNETT, 30, of City of Brampton

Charges:

  • Robbery
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Possession of Property obtained by Crime Over $5,000 x2

A third suspect, believed to be the getaway driver, remains outstanding. The investigation is ongoing.
