CHARGES LAID AND FURTHER SUSPECTS OUTSTANDING FOLLOWING A SHOOTING IN MARKHAM

Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau, with the assistance of Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS), and the Toronto Police Service (TPS) have charged a man in connection with a shooting in the City of Markham.

On Sunday, March 10, 2024, at approximately 3:45 a.m., officers responded to the sounds of gunshots in a plaza parking lot near Kirkham Drive and New Delhi Drive. They located a male suffering from a gunshot injury. He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Through investigation, a suspect was identified with the assistance of TPS investigators.

On Thursday, April 25, 2024, investigators, with the assistance of the DRPS Tactical Support Unit, executed a warrant at a residence in the Town of Ajax. A 22-year-old man was taken into custody.

Charged:

  • Roshvin CROFTON, 22,  of Ajax

Charges:

  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Robbery with a Firearm
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Motor Vehicle Theft
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

The investigation is ongoing and three additional suspects are being sought.
