WITNESSES SOUGHT FOLLOWING PHARMACY ROBBERY IN MARKHAM

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking witnesses following an armed robbery at a pharmacy in the City of Markham.

On Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at 11:41 a.m., York Regional Police were called to a robbery at a pharmacy located in the area of Markham Road and Major Mackenzie Drive West. When officers arrived they found an employee who advised that around 11:30 a.m., two men entered the pharmacy. They jumped the counter, struck the employee and made a demand for cash and narcotics. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun. The employee complied and the suspects fled the area prior to police arrival.

The employee was not physically injured.

Investigators are seeking any witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious in the area or anyone who may have dashcam footage in the area at the time.
