Investigators with the York Regional Police #2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a 49-year-old man in connection with the theft of a trumpet from a music store in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Tuesday, January 28, 2020, York Regional Police responded to a music store located in the area of Leslie Street and Elgin Mills Road East for a report of a theft. Investigators learned that on Sunday, January 5, 2020, an unknown man entered the store and stole a C trumpet and an effects pedal. The items stolen are valued at more than $5,000.

Investigators released images of the suspect, and thanks to tips from the community, the suspect was identified. He was arrested in the City of Toronto on February 13, 2020.

The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on February 14, 2020.
