Posted on Monday June 29, 2020

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking assistance to identify a suspect following a robbery at a pizza restaurant in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Saturday, June 27, 2020, just after 10 p.m., police were called to the restaurant located on Bayview Avenue just south of Elgin Mills Road for report of an attempted robbery. Officers learned that the suspect entered the store with his face covered with a mask. He lifted the front of his shirt to show the employee a firearm that was tucked in his waistband. The suspect demanded cash but due to COVID-19, the store had not been accepting cash and the register was empty. The employee was not physically injured and the suspect fled on foot without obtaining anything.

The victim described the suspect as male, Black, slim build, approximately 5’11”, brown eyes, wearing a baseball hat, a light-grey hoodie, black pants, black shoes, one blue glove on his right hand and a white PPE mask.
