Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a serious motor vehicle collision in the City of Vaughan. 

On Monday, January 11, 2021, at approximately 6:15 a.m., York Regional Police responded to a single-vehicle collision on King Vaughan Road, near Highway 27. When officers arrived, they found a silver Kia Sorrento SUV had gone off the roadway, through a guardrail and landed flipped over on its roof.

The driver, a 19-year-old man from the City of Vaughan, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. His condition improved in hospital and he is now expected to survive.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area, are being asked to please come forward.
