CARJACKING INVESTIGATION IN RICHMOND HILL

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are appealing for witnesses following a carjacking in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Friday, January 17, 2025, at approximately 5:50 p.m., police responded to a carjacking in the area of Leslie Street and Bethesda Sideroad. The victim’s Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon was rear-ended by a dark coloured sport utility vehicle (SUV). When the victim got out of the vehicle to assess the damage, a suspect entered his vehicle and drove away.

At least three suspects were involved.

Suspect #1 – Male, 20 to 30 years-old, medium build, wearing all dark clothing.

Suspect #2 – Male, 20 to 30 years-old, skinny build, wearing all dark clothing.

Suspect #3 – Drove away in the victim’s vehicle. No suspect description is available.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Officers would also like to speak with anyone who may have video surveillance or dashcam footage in the area at the time of the incident.
