Newmarket Man Charged with Sexual Assault

Investigators with the York Regional Police #1 District Criminal Investigation Unit are appealing for additional victims after a Newmarket man was charged in connection with a sexual assault in Newmarket.

On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the victim reported to police she had been sexually assaulted by a suspect she met at a bar in Newmarket. The victim reported that, on February 28, 2026, she attended the suspect’s residence, where the suspect sexually assaulted her with a weapon, causing bodily harm.

The suspect was identified, and on March 4, 2026, he was arrested and charged.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims. The suspect’s photo has been released to encourage anyone with information to come forward.

  • Sexual Assault with Choking x2
  • Sexual Assault with a Weapon
  • Sexual Assault Cause Bodily Harm
  • Overcome Resistance by Attempting to Choke
  • Assault


A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police would like to encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
