Suspect Charged for Sexually Assaulting a Minor

Investigators with the York Regional Police Counter Exploitation Unithave charged a 53-year-old man with Sexual Assault after a minor was solicited for sex in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Thursday, September 12, 2024, the suspect contacted the victim, a minor, through a website for the purpose of obtaining sexual services. The suspect met the victim in the area of Lake Wilcox and sexually assaulted them.

Investigators are releasing an image of the suspect as they believe there are additional victims. Anyone with information is encouraged them to come forward. The suspect used the alias “Tyler” and is known on social media as “@donttnoone.”

  • Derek Wayne BROWN, 53, of the City of Toronto

Charges:

  • Sexual Assault
  • Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police would like to encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
