Six teens dressed up for prom

At the end of every school year, thousands of students head to the prom. It's a great way to celebrate with your friends. Amidst all of the excitement of buying the perfect outfit, finding a date and planning the party, it's important to remember to stay safe. Sometimes in the heat of the moment, you might make a bad decision. You want to make your prom night one to remember and not one you'll regret. Remember:

  • The legal drinking age is 19. If you do decide to drink, make sure you have arranged for a safe ride to and from the prom. Never drink and drive
  • Take extra money with you in case you need it. If a situation becomes uncomfortable or your plans fall through, you want to be able to get a ride home
  • Keep your cellphone with you and fully charged
  • Make sure your friends and parents know where you are
  • Don't get a ride from someone who you think might be drunk or high
  • You can call #TAXI to get a cab

Be safe and have fun!
