Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking public assistance in identifying two suspects following an armed robbery in the City of Vaughan.

On Saturday, March 9, 2019, at approximately 11:15 p.m., officers responded to a carpet store located on Yonge Street south of Highway 407. Officers learned that two male suspects had entered the store with a gun and demanded cash. While inside the store, the male with the gun fired a shot into the wall before leaving the store.

The suspects attempted to flee in a 1999 blue Ford Mustang, but one of the store employees blocked the vehicle in and the suspects fled on foot. The vehicle has been recovered and is being analyzed for evidence.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Suspect 1 described as:

  • Male
  • Dark complexion
  • Medium build
  • Wearing glasses, grey track pants, white Nike running shoes, dark winter coat with a hood, white T-shirt and was not wearing any gloves.

Suspect 2 described as:

  • Shorter than suspect 1
  • Wearing a light and dark-coloured hooded jacket, grey track pants, dark shoes, a black cloth covering his face and a black glove on his right hand.
  • Carrying a black handgun in his right hand

The investigation is ongoing.
