Two Charged, Firearm Seized in Connection with Armed Carjackings and Home Invasions

Posted on Wednesday June 18, 2025

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit have charged two males and seized a firearm and ammunition following an investigation into a series of armed home invasions and carjackings across York Region, Peel Region and the City of Toronto.

The investigation, known as Project Gamer, began in April 2025. On April 5, 2025, multiple suspects, at least one armed with a handgun, attempted to carjack a Ferrari in the City of Richmond Hill. The suspects were unsuccessful in obtaining the keys and fled the scene in a black Land Rover, which had been reported stolen from Peel Region on April 1.

Through the course of the investigation, officers identified suspects and located a vehicle connected to the incidents.

On June 12, 2025, members of the Hold-Up Unit executed four search warrants at residences in Peel Region. Two suspects were arrested. Officers seized a loaded firearm, an extended magazine with ammunition, a replica firearm and keys to the stolen Land Rover.

Investigators are releasing images of the accused, as they believe the individuals may be connected to additional violent crimes. They are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact police.

Charged:

Myles TESSIER, 18, of City of Mississauga

 Charges:

  •  Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition

Anthony LOW, 19, of City of Brampton

  •  Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited
  •  Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 (both accused)

The investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be laid.
