Registration for the York Regional Police Youth Crime Prevention Academy is now open for 13 to 17-year old students living in York Region.

The Youth Crime Prevention Academy offers crime prevention information for young people to protect themselves and their property, and to help them make good decisions. Over this four-week program, they will learn about crime and preventing crime, mental health, and get to know their local youth education officer.

The academy includes the following sessions:

  • Virtual: Wednesday, May 6, 2026 – 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Virtual: Wednesday, May 13, 2026 - 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Virtual: Wednesday, May 20, 2026 – 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • In-Person: Saturday, May 23, 2026 – 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. (at our Community Safety Village)

Participants who complete all four sessions will be awarded 20 volunteer hours and a certificate of completion.
