Grade 5 Botvin Life Skills Training Program

York Regional Police is proud to be offering Grade 5 students the opportunity to complete the Botvin Life Skills Training Program through an intensive two day course.  The Botvin Life Skills Training Program is a comprehensive, evidence-based prevention program that utilises the latest research to address important social issues.

In the Grade 5 program, life skills relating to the following topics will be taught;

  • Self-esteem
  • Decision-making
  • Smoking
  • Advertising
  • Dealing with stress
  • Communication skills
  • Social skills
  • Assertiveness

Attendance at BOTH sessions is required for successful completion of the program - Saturday, May 9 and Saturday, May 30. 

Parents/guardians are not permitted in the program throughout the duration of the course. 

Participation is on a first come, first served basis and there is no charge for particiation. Twelve spots will be available. Participants must reside in York Region. Lunch, drinks and snacks will be provided on both days of the course.

Registration opens April 2 at 9am.
