Support policing with your unique skills
Civilians make up over a quarter of our team and play a key role in supporting frontline policing. They’re the calm voice on the other end of a 9-1-1 call, the first face people see when they walk into a police station, and the staff who keep our networks, buildings and vehicles running.
With more than 200 different civilian positions across the organization, York Regional Police offers a professional workplace with opportunities to learn, grow and advance.
Commitment to equity
At York Regional Police, everyone is welcome. We build an equitable workplace that values diversity in identity, experience and perspectives. We actively recruit, retain and promote people who reflect the community we serve, and we work to create a positive workplace where everyone can be themselves and do their best work every day.
We design our employment policies and procedures to be accessible and free of discrimination. We provide equitable treatment and accommodation to support barrier-free employment, in line with the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, and the York Regional Police accommodation procedure. If you need Code-protected accommodation at any stage of the recruitment process, tell us when we contact you and we will work with you to meet your needs.
