A former City of Vaughan employee has been charged with numerous sexual offences against two minors following an investigation by the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau.

On April 30, 2026, the victims were at a community centre in the area of Dufferin Street and Clark Avenue when they were approached by an employee. The victims believed they were in trouble for making noise and needed to be spoken to in private.

The victims were taken to a room and forcibly confined. After some time, the victims attempted to exit the room. While they attempted to exit, one victim was sexually assaulted.

Both victims did not sustain any physical injuries. 

On May 24, 2026, a 65-year-old man from Vaughan was charged. At the time of his arrest, he was no longer employed by the City of Vaughan. 

Investigators are releasing his photo as they believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police would like to encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
