Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a man in connections with a robbery in the City of Markham and are appealing for additional victims to come forward.
On February 4, 2026, officers responded to a street-level robbery in the area of Apple Creek and Town Centre boulevards. The victim told police she had been communicating with the suspect on the Chinese social media platform Redbook regarding the purchase of concert tickets. The two arranged to meet at a commercial plaza to complete the transaction.
When she arrived at the plaza, the suspect pointed a knife at the victim and demanded money. The suspect fled in white 2025 Mercedes-Benz sedan.
Through investigation, a suspect was identified. On February 12, 2026, Pui Hin LEE, 19, of Markham was charged with Robbery.
Investigators are releasing images of the accused as they believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to contact police.
