Update – Two Suspects Wanted in Vaughan Homicide

Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit are appealing for the public assistance in locating two suspects wanted in connection with a homicide in the City of Vaughan.

On Monday, January 26, 2026, at 1:08 p.m., officers were called to a commercial plaza in the area of Winges and Rowntree Dairy roads after receiving reports that shots fired. When officers arrived, a male was located in front of a business with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the Office of the Chief Coroner identified the homicide victim as Sergio LOPES, 65, of the City of Richmond Hill.

Canada-Wide warrants are currently being sought for 19-year-old Jacob WALLACE, of the City of Mississauga and 19-year-old Isaiah Thomas BADGER, of the City of Edmonton, Alberta. Both suspects are wanted for First Degree Murder.

The men are considered armed and dangerous. If seen, citizens are urged not to approach, but to call police immediately.
