Investigators with the York Regional Police (YRP) Counter Exploitation Unit have charged a Whitchurch-Stouffville man with human trafficking and child sexual abuse and exploitation material offences in an on-going investigation.
On April 1, 2026, the Peterborough Police Service began an investigation into a missing female youth from their area. The youth had been seen getting into a grey sedan.
Soon after the vehicle was identified, YRP investigators were contacted to assist in locating the vehicle as it was believed to be in the Whitchurch-Stouffville area.
On April 2, 2026, the vehicle was located at a residence in Whitchurch-Stouffville. Concerned for the youth’s well-being, investigators entered the residence under exigent circumstances.
The youth was safely located and a 47-year-old man was charged.
Search warrants were executed at two residences associated to the man following his arrest.
Investigators are releasing his photo as they believe there are more victims. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police.
