Earlier today, a man convicted of uttering threats, including threatening to blow up a mosque in Newmarket, was sentenced in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Newmarket.
Donald CAMERON was arrested on September 4, 2025, after making verbal threats toward Muslims, including utterances of blowing up a mosque in Newmarket, and threatening to kill his neighbour who is Muslim.

Investigators with the York Regional Police Firearms Investigations Team are appealing for public assistance following a shooting at a residence in the City of Vaughan.
On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, just before 1 a.m., police responded to reports of gunshots at a residence in the area of Clubhouse Road and Pine Valley Drive. When officers arrived, multiple shell casings were located and the house had been damaged by gunfire.

Between November 28, 2025, and March 20, 2026, the suspect committed numerous residential break-and-enters during the evening hours in Markham. The suspect forced entry into residences that appeared to be unoccupied and targeted bedrooms for jewelry and designer items.
