The Cold Cases of York Region: Jean Carlin

Jean Carlin was left for dead in the bedroom of her Newmarket apartment on August14, 1976. 

The 76-year-old, who lived alone on the ninth floor at 468 Eagle St., had suffered blunt-force trauma after being struck in the head. She died later that day in hospital. 

An investigation showed that someone had broken into her apartment before she was discovered just before 2 p.m. Police have not determined who killed Jean, or the reason her apartment was targeted.
