Keep you eyes peeled and you may see a York Regional Police drone in your area in the coming weeks.
York Regional Police is piloting the new Drone as a First Responder program.
The program will see drones installed on a select few York Regional Police buildings, to be piloted remotely from the Real-Time Operations Centre, by members of the Air Support Unit.
With the ability to be activated in seconds and arrive at the scene in minutes, the drones will be first at the scene, providing important information to dispatchers and the attending officers.
