Mississauga Man Charged in Child Luring Investigation
Investigators with the York Regional Police Internet Child Exploitation Section have charged a Mississauga man in connection with child sexual abuse and exploitation material offences in an ongoing investigation.
In September 2025, an investigation began into a suspect who was using an online platform to arrange meetings with youths he believed were under the age of 16 for the purpose of committing sexual offences.
Over the span of seven months, the suspect continued to send messages using numerous aliases including ‘Scanner’, ‘Competentist’, ‘James Thomas’, ‘JP T’ and ‘Confessionator’.
In May 2026, investigators were notified by the Ontario Provincial Police that they were investigating similar allegations involving the same suspect and motive.
In June 2026, a Mississauga man was charged with numerous offences in relation to both investigations.
Investigators are releasing a photo of the accused as they believe there are additional victims.
