Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit have charged a private soccer coach following a sexual assault investigation in the City of Vaughan.

On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, the victim, a youth, was receiving one-on-one soccer lessons from a coach in the area of Milano Avenue and Martin Grove Road. 

During the lesson, the victim was sexually assaulted.

The following day, investigators took Zachary WEINSTEIN, 23, of Toronto, into custody.

WEINSTEIN runs a private coaching business out of the Greater Toronto Area. He is known to conduct one-on-one practices in the areas of Milano Avenue and Martin Grove Road, as well as Coronation Street and Morning Star Drive, both in Vaughan. 

Investigators are releasing his photo as they believe there are additional victims.

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature, while sexual interference includes the touching of a person under the age of 16 for a sexual purpose.

York Regional Police would like to encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
