Suspect Charged in Series of Commercial Break and Enters
Investigators with the York Regional Police #1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a Newmarket man following an investigation into a series of commercial break and enters in the Town of Newmarket and the surrounding areas.
In August 2026, investigators began looking into more than a dozen commercial break and enters that occurred during the early-morning hours between August 3 and August 16. The suspect forced entry into businesses overnight and targeted safes and cash registers.
Through the investigation, police identified a suspect responsible for at least 14 commercial break and enters in Newmarket.
On August 19, 2026, the suspect was taken into custody. A search warrant was executed at a residence in Newmarket, where officers recovered cash trays and break and enter tools.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims. Police are releasing a photograph of the accused and are appealing to business owners and members of the community who have information to come forward.

At the time of the offences, ALLAN was on probation.
The investigation is ongoing.
